ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the nation on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

In his message, Zardari reflected on the historic significance of March 23rd, commemorating the passage of the Pakistan Resolution in 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan as an independent homeland.

Zardari emphasized the vision and determination of Pakistan’s forefathers, particularly honoring the commitment and sacrifices of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his companions in transforming Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal’s dream into reality.

Highlighting Pakistan’s journey since independence, Zardari highlighted significant achievements across various domains, including the pivotal role of armed forces, civil administration, police, and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety, security, and sovereignty of the nation. He commended their efforts during the war against terrorism, rapid response to natural disasters, and contributions to global peacekeeping missions.

The President also addressed the plight of Kashmiri brethren, emphasizing their enduring struggle for freedom in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their right to self-determination in line with UN Security Council Resolutions.

Expressing concern over the situation in Palestine, Zardari condemned the indiscriminate killings and attacks by Israeli Defence Forces on innocent civilians, educational institutions, public buildings and hospitals. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In the spirit of Pakistan Day, Zardari called for a reaffirmation of commitment to democracy, justice, and equality, urging active participation in the nation-building process while embracing values of hard work, integrity, and compassion.

He emphasized unity as the key to overcoming obstacles and paving the way for a better and brighter future for Pakistan.
