Pakistan President for Promoting Business, Trade Linkages with Singapore

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday urged Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore to work for the promotion of bilateral business and trade linkages with Singaporean businesses, besides encouraging them to benefit from investment-friendly policies of Pakistan.

Talking to the newly-appointed High Commissioner Rabia Shafiq, who called on him, President Zardari underlined the need to explore opportunities for the export of Pakistani agricultural and food products to Singapore.

Pakistan Steady Source of Food Supplies

He said that Pakistan could become a steady source of food supplies for Singapore by exporting processed food items, such as meat, seafood, poultry, etc.

He also stressed the need to explore avenues to export Pakistani manpower to Singapore and work for the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the sectors of Information Technology and agriculture.

The president congratulated Rabia Shafiq on assuming her new responsibility and wished her a productive and professionally successful tenure in Singapore.
