KARACHI: Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding a potential cyclonic situation in Pakistan’s coastal region of the Arabian Sea.

According to the NDMA, cyclonic activity is developing near the east-central Arabian Sea, with a likelihood of it becoming a storm. The alert advises residents to exercise caution.

A cyclonic circulation over the South Kerala coast in India is expected to contribute to the formation of a low-pressure area around October 9 near Lakshadweep and the east-central Arabian Sea. This system may gradually move northwestward toward Pakistan’s coastal belt and could develop into a cyclonic storm, impacting the weather in surrounding areas.

The initial alert indicates that this cyclonic storm could make landfall along Pakistan’s coastline in the third week of October. The NDMA has urged residents of coastal areas and relevant authorities to remain vigilant.
