Pakistan, Qatar Resolve to Promote Cooperation in Different Sectors

DOHA: After arriving in Doha, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Qatar to participate in the fifth session of the Conference of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).

Prime Minister Shehbaz is participating in this conference at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed broader issues of mutual interest. They discussed ways to further enhance the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar in other fields, including economics and investment.

The Emir of Qatar appreciated the efforts of Pakistani workers in the development of Qatar and especially appreciated the excellent performance of Pakistani security authorities on the occasion of the successful holding of the FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar.

PM Shehbaz appreciates Qatar’s support to Pakistan

In the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Qatar’s continuous support of Pakistan’s development projects and highlighted the vast opportunities for increased cooperation between the two countries.

Discussions were held on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Qatar and increasing bilateral investment, trade, and ways and means of exporting skilled people from Pakistan to Qatar.

The Emir of Qatar welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif upon arriving in Qatar. He expressed a keen interest in increasing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. He reiterated Qatar’s firm commitment and continued support for Pakistan’s development agenda.

The Prime Minister invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Pakistan, which he accepted.
