Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Further Strengthen Ties with Iran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan expressed support and solidarity with Iran’s new government on Tuesday and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar congratulated Iran’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian, who took office in a ceremony before Parliament. Ishaq Dar attended the event, which was also graced by foreign dignitaries including officials of regional and international organizations.

In his congratulatory message, Ishaq Dar facilitated Pezeshkian’s assumption of office as Iran’s ninth president. Pezeshkian, in his inaugural speech, emphasized the importance of “constructive relations” with neighboring countries, stating, “Our priority is effective communication with neighbors. We want a strong region.”

Welcoming Pezeshkian’s commitment, Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed Pakistan’s support and solidarity with the new Iranian government. He conveyed best wishes on behalf of the people and the Government of Pakistan and congratulated the Iranian nation on a smooth transition of power.

Ishaq Dar visited Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Alongside Dar, over 70 foreign delegates, including senior officials from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Turkey, Cuba, and Brazil, were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
