ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and State & Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Engineer Amir Muqam, issued a special message marking the 77th Foundation Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
He said that October 24 is a day to reaffirm the commitment to the Kashmir freedom struggle until it reaches a successful conclusion.
“On this day, we must renew our pledge that we will not rest until the people of occupied Kashmir attain their right to self-determination,” he stated.
The minister highlighted the bravery of Kashmiri youth, noting that despite the presence of over 800,000 Indian troops, they continue to express their solidarity with Pakistan. “They courageously hoist the Pakistani flag in the streets and squares of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K),” he added.

Engineer Amir Muqam remarked that the current generation of Kashmiri youth is even more determined than their ancestors to secure their right to self-determination at all costs.
He called on the international community to play an active role in ensuring this right for Kashmiris and to take measures to prevent the atrocities committed by occupying forces in the region.
The minister referred to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s address to the UN General Assembly, where he clearly stated that Kashmiris should be granted their right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions.
Engineer Muqam reaffirmed that the government and people of Pakistan will continue to provide political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination, as recognized by United Nations Security Council resolutions.
He concluded by stating that the sacrifices made by Kashmiris will not be in vain and expressed hope that the day would soon arrive when Kashmiris celebrate their independence.
