ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, on Monday reiterated the country’s unwavering commitment to the foundational principle of the One-China Policy, calling it a cornerstone of Islamabad’s foreign policy.
In a statement, the spokesperson categorically rejected baseless and unfounded allegations targeting Pakistan-China friendship.
The spokesperson said the One-China Policy is a consistent cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and remained unchanged. He emphasised that China was Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partner.
Pakistan and China’s “relationship is characterised by mutual trust, shared values, support on issues of core concern and a commitment to regional and global stability,” the spokesperson added.
Earlier, foreign media reported that Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had allegedly attended an event in Washington by the New Federal State of China (NFSC), a political movement opposed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

However, while speaking to reporters on Sunday, Naqvi strongly denied the allegations, describing them as “propaganda.” Naqvi said he had attended an event by US-based public relations firm Gunster Strategies in Washington, adding that it was not opposed to the Chinese state.
Pakistan has always supported the principle of the One-China Policy, which diplomatically recognises Beijing’s position that there is only one Chinese government. This policy serves as the foundation for China’s relations with other countries concerning Taiwan’s status.
