LAHORE: The provincial government of Punjab has announced handing out 200,000 rupees to people who help officials in arresting the suspects who vandalised Corps Commander House in Lahore, local media reported on Saturday.
The Punjab home department also shared the images of the vandals and urged the public to help law enforcement agencies track the attackers down. It added that the identity of the informants would be kept confidential.
Violent protests occurred after Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest, in which about a dozen of people were killed and several wounded.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued directives to the government of Punjab earlier today to act immediately and arrest the vandals within 72 hours.
The PM said after chairing a meeting in Lahore that he had given law enforcement agencies a target of 72 hours to arrest all responsible for facilitating, abetting, and perpetrating the disgraceful incidents of arson, ransacking, sabotage, and damaging public and private properties.
He added that all available resources, including technical support and intelligence, are being used to track down these miscreants.
The Prime Minister said that “Bringing these elements to justice is a test case for his government. Anti-terrorism courts will hear the cases,”, saying that such kind of terrorism is not acceptable.
