Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Commitment to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation and their bilateral relationship for the benefit of their two fraternal nations.

Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud met with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-i-Sadr. The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, highlighted the profound significance both countries place on their fraternal relationship based on shared faith and historical connections.

President Zardari expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support during challenging periods, commending the visionary leadership of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud that would propel the Kingdom towards remarkable progress.

Prince Khalid echoed the sentiment, noting the strong historical, strategic, and defense cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the importance of mutual support to deepen bilateral relations and promote regional prosperity through increased economic integration.

In recognition of Prince Khalid’s contributions to strengthening cooperation and fostering peace in the region, President Zardari honored him with the Nishan-i-Pakistan award during a Special Investiture Ceremony.

The President extended congratulations and appreciation to Prince Khalid for his role in advancing defense ties between the two countries.
