Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Resolve to Strengthen Cooperation in Multiple Sectors

NEW YORK: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields, particularly the economy, energy, trade, and investment.

This consensus was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which has brought together more than 140 world leaders to discuss pressing global issues.

The two foreign ministers engaged in discussions covering multiple aspects of bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues. They emphasized the utmost significance of the enduring Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties.

Foreign Minister Jilani expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their generous support, which played a pivotal role in securing a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He also informed his Saudi counterpart about the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, aimed at expediting potential investments from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in crucial areas such as information technology, energy, and infrastructure.

Additionally, the foreign minister thanked the Saudi counterpart for hosting over two million Pakistanis who play important roles in the development of both nations and serve as a vital link between the two brotherly countries.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud underscored the fraternal relations between the two nations and the valuable contributions made by the Pakistani community to the Kingdom’s development.

The foreign minister reiterated Pakistan’s eagerness to welcome the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on their upcoming visit to Pakistan.
