ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said that ties with Saudi Arabia are on an upward trajectory and are getting stronger with each passing day.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, the minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a very important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his recently concluded visit to Saudi Arabia.
He stated that it was the fifth meeting with the Crown Prince in just five months, which shows the warmth in the relationships between the two countries.
The Minister said Saudi Arabia will be investing billions of dollars in Pakistan’s economy. He mentioned that several projects have already been launched including the opening of petrol stations by the Saudi Company Aramco.
He added that discussions are also taking place with regard to launching Saudi Arabia’s fast-food chain Albaik in Pakistan.
Attaullah Tarar said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman considers Pakistanis as his brothers and believes that there is no limit to Saudi investments in Pakistan.
He said the Saudi leadership has expressed satisfaction with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team for their dedication to materialising agreed projects and MOUs.
Attaullah Tarar said more delegations from Saudi Arabia are expected to visit Pakistan, which will boost investments and bilateral trade.
The information minister said both nations have consistently supported one another during challenging times.
Attaullah Tarar said the Prime Minister during a visit to Saudi Arabia presented Pakistan’s viewpoint during the water summit and also discussed the Indus Water Treaty.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday agreed to bring about a qualitative change in their economic, trade, and investment relationship as Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz vowed to enhance meaningful cooperation between the two countries.
