Pakistan Secure Semi-Final Spot by Defeating UAE in Emerging Teams Asia Cup

AL-AMERAT: Pakistan Shaheens secured a spot in the semi-finals after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 74 runs in a virtual quarter-final of the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup on Wednesday.

The UAE team was dismissed for just 65 runs in 16.3 overs, with Mohammad Haris leading the charge.

Earlier, Haris scored a quick 71 runs off 49 balls, helping his team set a target of 180 runs against the UAE. He remained not out, hitting six fours and three sixes.

Omair Bin Yousuf opened the innings with Yasir Khan but was unfortunately run out after contributing 21 runs. Haris then joined Yasir at the crease, providing stability as Yasir also hit some big shots.

UAE’s captain, Rahul Chopra, made a stunning catch while running backward, but unfortunately hit the back of his head hard on the ground and had to leave the field for a while.

Haris showcased his aggressive batting style, while Qasim Akram, who had a strong performance in the previous match against Oman, managed only 23 runs this time. Haider Ali returned from rest to score 32 runs off 17 balls, including one four and three sixes.
