RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 10 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Bagh area of the country’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s Khyber district, the military’s media wing stated on Monday.
According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of February 23/24, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Bagh area of Khyber district on the reported presence of Khwarij (terrorists of banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terror group).
During the conduct of the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as a result of which, 10 terrorists were sent to hell, ISPR stated.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, ISPR stated.
“Pakistan’s security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the military resolved.
Last year, Pakistan’s security forces conducted a record 59,775 intelligence-based operations, eliminating 925 terrorists, including 73 high-value targets—the highest number of neutralised militants in five years.
