ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 30 terrorists in separate operations across northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated on Saturday.
The operations, which took place on January 24 and 25, targeted terrorists of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as “Khwarij.”
The first operation occurred in Lakki Marwat district, where intelligence-based information led security forces to engage a terrorist stronghold. In the ensuing clash, 18 terrorists were killed, and six others were injured, ISPR stated.
“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and resultantly, eighteen khwarij were sent to hell, while six khwarij got injured”, ISPR stated in a press release.
In another intelligence-based operation in Karak district, security forces neutralized eight more terrorists in a gun battle. “In ensuing fire exchange, eight Khwarij were effectively neutralised by the security forces,” ISPR stated.
In a third operation, carried out in the Bagh area of Khyber district, security forces successfully killed four terrorists, including ring leaders — Aziz ur Rehman alias Qari Ismail and Mukhlis — who were responsible for several attacks in the region. Two additional terrorists were injured in the encounter.

During these operations, the forces also seized a significant amount of weapons and ammunition. These terrorists were actively involved in numerous violent activities in the area, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.
In response to the growing terrorist threat in the region, the Pakistan military has continued its efforts to sanitize affected areas and eliminate any remaining terrorists. “Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area,” ISPR stated.
Pakistan’s security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, ISPR resolved.
