RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Security forces killed 43 terrorists in a series of Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Balochistan provinces since December 9, said a military statement on Friday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the operations targeted various terrorist hideouts linked to groups such as TTP which have been active in both provinces as the ongoing crackdown has led to a series of successful engagements, significantly weakening the presence of these groups.
The statement further said that on Thursday and Friday, security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation in Lakki Marwat District of K-P where they engaged and neutralised six terrorists. Since the start of the operations on December 9, 18 terrorists have been killed in K-P alone, said the statement.
The statement added that on December 13, two separate IBOs were conducted in the Musa Khel and Panjgur districts of Balochistan where after intense firefights, the security forces successfully neutralised ten terrorists.
The ISPR said with these latest deaths, the total number of militants eliminated in Balochistan since December 9 now stands at 25.
The ISPR said these operations will continue till peace in the area is restored and terrorists are eliminated, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
