RAWALPINDI: In a successful intelligence-based operation carried out by the Pakistani security forces on Tuesday, eight terrorists were killed in the Shinwarsak area of South Waziristan district, ISPR said in a press release.
The operation was launched after intelligence reports revealed the presence of terrorists in the area who were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and innocent citizens.
According to ISPR, the military media wing, an intense exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and the security forces during the operation. The troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and as a result, eight terrorists, including the terrorist commander Jan Muhammad alias Chargh, were killed.
The security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the scene.
During the operation, Sepoy Hamid Rasool, a 31-year-old resident of District Rawalpindi, embraced shahadat (martyrdom) while fighting gallantly against the terrorists. Four other personnel, including two officers, were also injured during the exchange of fire, ISPR said.
