RAWALPINDI: Nine terrorists, including high-value targets, were killed during Pakistan security forces’ two separate operations in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country. However, during the operation, one brave soldier embraced martyrdom, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Saturday.

According to ISPR, on February 16 and 17, security forces killed nine terrorists in two separate operations. In an intelligence-based operation conducted by the security forces in Tank district, two terrorists, high-value target terrorist Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur and Ts Amjad alias Babri were killed, ISPR said.

In another operation conducted in the South Waziristan district, after an intense fire exchange, seven terrorists were sent to hell, ISPR said.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area against the security forces, as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians, ISPR stated.

However, during the operation, a brave son of the soil, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam (age 29 years; resident of Haripur district), having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom. “Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” ISPR maintained.
