Pakistan Security Forces Kill Eight Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed eight terrorists in two separate engagements in the country’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media wing, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in Tank District on the reported presence of terrorists.

The statement added that security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed six terrorists.

The ISPR said during another encounter that took place in Tirah Valley, Khyber district, the troops successfully neutralised two terrorists.

The statement concluded that sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.

President, PM praise security forces

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for conducting successful operations against terrorists in northwestern Pakistan.

In his statement, the President praised security forces for killing eight terrorists in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the entire nation stands with its brave security forces for the complete elimination of terrorists.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended security forces for eliminating terrorists adding the nefarious designs of terrorists will continue to be thwarted in this manner.

He said the nation takes pride in the brave personnel of the security forces.

On Monday, while chairing a meeting to review the ongoing military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir commended security forces for successfully dismantling the operational capabilities of terrorist groups in the country.

The army chief said that terrorism had no place in the country, and said he was immensely proud of the remarkable achievements of our security forces.

“Our forces have relentlessly pursued and eliminated key terrorist leaders, dismantled their infrastructure and neutralised their cells, sending a clear message that terror has no place in our land. This war is ongoing and we would take it to its logical conclusion,” he said.
