RAWALPINDI: Pakistan security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Tuesday.

The ISPR statement said that a wanted terrorist responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians was killed during the security forces operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Dera Ismail Khan district.

During the operation, the intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists led to the killing of terrorist Muhammad Sohail.

Muhammad Sohail had been actively involved in various terrorist activities, targeting law enforcement agencies and carrying out indiscriminate killings of civilians.

A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The local populace has expressed appreciation for the swift action taken by security forces.

Earlier this month, security forces conducted another successful operation in the same district, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists, including a high-value target.

The terrorists killed were identified as Ashraf Sheikh, the ring leader, and Burhan Ullah. Additionally, weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized during the operation.
