ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday announced that all educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed on Monday due to the ongoing protest march of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party.
The closure comes as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and supporters continue their march to Islamabad, demanding the release of the ex-premier, protesting alleged election rigging, and reversal of the 26th constitutional amendment.
“The decision to close schools has been made in light of the current situation,” the Islamabad Capital Territory administration said in a notification.

The closure will apply to all public and private educational institutions across the city.
Such shutdowns have become increasingly common in Islamabad during times of political turmoil or high-profile foreign visits.
Schools and colleges were also closed during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in October.
