Pakistan, Somalia Demand Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

BANJUL: Pakistan and Somalia on Sunday underlined the urgency of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance for the people of the enclave.

This was expressed by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia Salah Jama during their meeting on the sidelines of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit in Banjul, Gambia.

Both leaders expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Pakistan-Somalia Ties

The two sides commended the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Somalia and discussed measures to further strengthen bilateral ties with a special focus on trade, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

They also discussed bilateral cooperation at multilateral forums including the United Nations (UN) and OIC, and exchanged views on a range of recent regional and global developments, particularly in the Middle East.
