MUSCAT, Oman: Pakistan’s junior hockey team secured a place in the final of the Junior Asia Hockey Cup on Tuesday, defeating Japan 4-2 in the semi-final in Muscat, Oman.

Pakistan’s captain Hanan Shahid scored two crucial goals. Sufyan Khan and Basharat Ali added one goal each, sealing the victory for Pakistan.

The Green Shirts remained undefeated in the tournament so far.

The semi-final saw intense competition, with both teams locked at 2-2 by the end of the third quarter. However, Pakistan’s late surge in the final quarter proved decisive, as they scored two unanswered goals to dash Japan’s hopes of reaching the final.

Hanan Shahid’s standout performance earned him the “Player of the Match” accolade.

“This victory reflects the team’s hard work and determination. We’re ready for the final and will give our best to bring the trophy home,” Shahid said after the match.

Japan managed to score twice during the game but was ultimately outclassed by Pakistan’s clinical finishing and cohesive teamwork.
