Pakistan Street Football Team Secures Playoff Spot with Third Consecutive Win in Norway Cup

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan street football team, which has been a runner-up in the last two tournaments, secured a playoff spot after a third consecutive victory in the Norway Cup 2024. The team achieved this with a 3-1 win over Oystese Club, according to state-run media reports on Thursday.

The Street Child Football Norway Cup is an international youth football event held in Oslo, Norway. Pakistan’s team started the tournament with strong performances, defeating Norwegian club Astor Footballklubb 6-1 and Vardenest BK 5-0 in their first two matches.

“In their third match of the Norway Cup 2024, the Pakistan street child football team defeated Oystese Club 3-1,” Radio Pakistan reported. “This victory continues Pakistan’s winning streak in the tournament.”

The team has now advanced to the playoff stage, which begins today. The Norway Cup runs from July 27 to August 3.

Pakistan is determined to win the title this year after finishing as runners-up in the 2022 Street Child World Cup in Qatar. The team was also a runner-up in 2018 in Russia and finished third in the 2014 edition held in Brazil.
