ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected recent media reports claiming that Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, reported the disappearance of 50,000 Pakistani pilgrims in Iraq.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has clarified that these reports are false and misleading. Minister Salik Hussain said that he did not make any statements about such a large number of missing pilgrims during a Senate committee meeting.

The minister explained that Pakistani pilgrims travel to Iraq for religious purposes through private operators. The Ministry is actively working to improve the facilitation process for pilgrims to ensure their safety and well-being during their journey.

Minister Salik Hussain has called on media outlets to verify the information before publication and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of Pakistani pilgrims abroad.
