ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Minister for Commerce and Industry Gohar Ejaz expressed aspirations for bolstering bilateral trade with Saudi Arabia during his address at the Pakistan-Saudi Business Forum in Riyadh on Thursday. Ejaz articulated Pakistan’s ambition to elevate trade volume with Saudi Arabia to $20 billion.
Ejaz, leading a delegation of Pakistani industrialists, met with Saudi Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi and discussed means of fostering investment across various sectors including construction, digital economy, and infrastructure between the two countries.
Highlighting significant strides, Ejaz underscored the recent ratification of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and Gulf countries, signaling a commitment to deeper economic cooperation.
Hassan Al Hazawi, Chairman of the Saudi Business Forum, acknowledged a notable surge in bilateral trade, recording a 35 percent increase. The Saudi Minister of Commerce commended efforts aimed at fortifying trade ties.
Emphasizing the fraternal bond between Pakistanis and Saudis, the Saudi Minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing extensive employment opportunities for Pakistanis.
