Pakistan Targets One Million Manpower Export in 2023

PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OPHRD), Sajid Hussain Turi, on Monday said the federal government had set a target to export one million human resources to different countries across the world in 2023.

Addressing an award-giving ceremony to graduate women in Peshawar, the Minister said he had visited many countries, including Greece, Romania, and Portugal, to tap new opportunities adding that these nations showed great interest in importing workforce from Pakistan.

“This year, I am visiting Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Qatar to explore employment opportunities for the skilled Pakistani youth,” the Minister added.

Sajid Turi said Malta, Iraq, Poland, Hungary, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia, and Iran had shown deep interest in importing manpower from Pakistan. MoUs have also been signed in this regard with many of these countries.

He urged Pakistani youth to avoid illegal immigration as such activities are dangerous and tainting the country’s image.

Expressing his delights in completing the training course, The Minister said he was glad to know that many women were trained and provided with tool kits during the 45 days to help them lead in their professional life and economic independence.

The Minister said that with the support of GIZ, Provincial TEVTA, and NAVTTC, his ministry would extend the training programs and sessions to all provinces and districts of Pakistan.
