Pakistan Team Leaves for Russia to Participate in BRICS Games

ISLAMABAD: A 7-member Pakistan players team has left for Russia to take part in the Brics Games being held in Kazan from June 12 to 17.

According to President of Athletics Federation of Pakistan, Brig (Retd) Wajahat Hussain, the team includes five athletes and two officials.

The athletes are Shajar Abbas (100m and 200m races), Gohar Shahbaz (100m race), Abdul Muheed (400m race), Abdul Qadir Khan Marwat (javelin throw) and Sohail Amir (1500m and 5000m races).

The team will also be accompanied by Manager Imdadullah Memon and Coach Rana Sajjad Ahmed Khan. Wajahat Hussain expressed hope that the national side will perform outstandingly in the event in Russia.

This is a great opportunity for Pakistan’s players to showcase their talent and bring honors to the country. The BRICS Games is a prestigious global sporting event that brings together athletes from across the world.
