Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to Hold Intra-Party Elections on March 3

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) announced on Thursday to hold intra-party elections on March 3.

The schedule for the intra-party elections has also been released by Tehreek-e-Insaaf, according to which the candidates participating in the elections will be able to submit their nomination papers on February 23 and 24.

According to the schedule released by the party, nomination papers for PTI intra-party elections can be submitted on February 23 and 24, scrutiny for elections will be held on February 25, and decisions on nomination papers in PTI intra-party elections will be made on February 27. As per schedule, polling for Tehreek-e-Insaf intra-party elections will be held on March 3, and polling will be held in all four provincial secretariats including the central office.

Earlier, PTI had announced holding intra-party elections on February 5, but later it was decided to postpone the intra-party elections. PTI took the stand that the decision to postpone the intra-party election was taken due to the busyness of the workers in the general elections and at the suggestion of the party leaders.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and prime ministerial nominee Umram Ayub did not join the Sunni Etihad Council.

According to party sources, Secretary General Umar Ayub Khan and Gauhar Ali Khan will not join Sunni Ittehad Council and both leaders will take oath as members of the National Assembly as independents.

According to Zarair, Barrister Gauhar and Umar Ayub will be the candidates of the panel for chairman and secretary general in the intra-party elections. Due to legal reasons, the two leaders did not join the Sunni Ittehad Council.

Earlier, the intra-party election conducted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf was declared illegal by the Supreme Court and the flag of the bat was taken away before the general elections. Tehreek-e-Insaf had announced to hold intra-party elections 2 days before the general elections, but later it was decided to hold the elections after the general elections by postponing the elections.
