ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), has planned to establish about 10,000 e-Rozgar centres across the country to facilitate freelancers under one roof.

According to an official from the Ministry of Information Technology, the e-Rozgar centres, already established by the government, were providing top-class facilities to freelancers, including high-speed internet, UPS, training centres, individual cabins, meeting rooms, and separate office rooms for different startups.

He said that the government aimed to facilitate the masses by enabling a significant number of the existing 1.5 million freelancers, along with new freelancers, to work independently at very low and reasonable rates.

He expressed hope that after the completion of the mega project, IT exports would be enhanced by $10 billion annually. Through public-private partnerships, these centres would also significantly increase the capacity and income of freelancers.

The official further added that PSEB would provide freelancers with the necessary technical support for these centres.
