ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, on Friday said that the acquisition of oil from Russia was made possible by the current government of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), while the previous government of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) only allowed oil imports from Russia.
Musadik Malik held a news conference, highlighting the importance of energy supply for the country’s economic development.
Dr. Malik affirmed that energy supply is essential for the journey of economic development, as countries worldwide are facing energy shortages required for economic development. The Minister of State for Petroleum also announced the establishment of a refinery at the cost of 10 to 14 billion dollars, which he said would provide employment opportunities to people.
Oil refinery to benefit the Pakistan’s economy
The establishment of an oil refinery will benefit Pakistan’s economy, providing not only job opportunities but also an increase in the supply of energy sources. Dr. Malik confirmed that cheap gas would be withdrawn from the rich and provided to the people, adding that a policy has been made to supply energy through LPG, LNG, and Solar. This decision, he said, would provide convenience to the people, particularly those in rural areas.
Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of responsible energy use, stating that we must use energy sources responsibly. The Minister of State for Petroleum concluded his news conference by stating that today the monopoly of some people has been abolished.
