BEIJING: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his determination to follow the blueprint of Chinese development as a guiding principle for national advancement.

“If we follow the Chinese model, I have no doubt, Pakistan will regain its position in the comity of nations and will be respected like our Chinese brothers are done by friends and foes… We will follow your model, work hard untiringly, put in our sweat and blood, and make Pakistan a great country,” the premier said while addressing the 4th Pakistan-China Friendship and Business Reception here.

Addressing Pakistani and Chinese business leaders, Prime Minister Shehbaz pledged to adopt President Xi Jinping’s vision for progress and prosperity, citing China’s remarkable achievements such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He urged Pakistanis to confront challenges with resilience, aiming to achieve Chinese levels of progress within a few years or decades.

Highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, Prime Minister Shehbaz commended China’s rapid development under President Xi’s leadership, stressing the importance of hard work and perseverance for both nations.

He acknowledged China’s substantial trade growth and advancements in technology, including information technology and artificial intelligence, as well as collaborative efforts in space exploration.

In the wake of a tragic attack on Chinese workers in Besham, Prime Minister Shehbaz condemned the incident and promised to prioritize the safety and security of Chinese nationals across Pakistan, vowing to protect them with utmost diligence and care.

He denounced the attack as a malicious attempt to undermine the deep-rooted friendship between China and Pakistan and vowed to combat any threats to bilateral cooperation and friendship.
