ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to transform travel with the launch of its first glass train between Islamabad and Murree. This ground-breaking project will offer passengers breath-taking panoramic views as they journey through the picturesque landscapes between capital city and Murree.
This project has the potential to extend its reach, potentially linking Murree with Muzaffarabad. A crucial milestone has already been achieved with the feasibility study carried out by the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK).
Once approved by the relevant authorities, the project will advance to the international tendering phase, envisioned as a public-private partnership.
Drawing inspiration from the previously explored Kashmir Railway initiative, this glass train takes cues from India’s Jammu-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link. Its goal is to enhance connectivity and boost tourism in the region.

A single track will be integrated between dual tracks, functioning as a safety mechanism to manage an elevation of one foot for every 12 feet of track. These technical innovations will ensure seamless and secure operations, even in rugged terrains.
