Pakistan, UAE Ministers Discuss Bilateral Trade and Investment Opportunities

ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce, Industries, and Investment, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, on Saturday called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, in Abu Dhabi.

The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance bilateral economic ties between the two countries. 

During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing bilateral trade volume and identifying promising avenues for the UAE’s investment in Pakistan’s service and logistics sectors. Key areas of focus included the development of infrastructure in ports, logistics hubs, and aviation facilities, the expansion of shipping and cargo services, and investment in modern technologies and services to improve efficiency.

Both ministers affirmed their commitment to simplifying procedures and fostering an investor-friendly environment for UAE investors. They recognized the substantial potential for collaboration in these sectors, anticipating not only an increase in trade but also the creation of job opportunities and a positive impact on the overall economic growth of both countries.

Dr. Ejaz, speaking at the event, expressed enthusiasm about the forthcoming opportunities resulting from this renewed emphasis on economic cooperation with the UAE. He highlighted the shared vision for a vibrant and interconnected future, paving the way for mutually advantageous investments and trade initiatives.
