ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday warmly welcomed the restoration of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran. China facilitated the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a statement, “Pakistan firmly believes that this important diplomatic breakthrough will contribute to peace and stability in the entire region and beyond.”
“We appreciate the role played by China’s visionary leadership in coordinating this historic agreement, reflecting the power of constructive engagement and meaningful talks.
Pakistan lauds the sagacious leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran for this positive development.
The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that with a history of consistently supporting and coordinating efforts for bridging gaps between the two brotherly countries, Pakistan would continue playing a constructive role in the Middle East and the region.
“We hope this positive step will define a regional cooperation and harmony template,” the spokesperson added.
