CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan women’s team on Monday secured their first ODI victory against New Zealand in the third clash of the three-match series at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
Team Green won by 3 runs in a super over after the match ended in a tie.
Pakistan’s Aliya Riaz once again played a heroic knock and set a target of twelve runs, and it was successfully defended by Sadia Iqbal, restricting the hosts to 8 runs.
However, the hosts won the three-match ODI series 2-1.
Pakistan Batting Against New Zealand
In chase of New Zealand’s 251-8 in a 50-over match, Pakistan managed to put the same on the scoreboard at the loss of 9 wickets, entering the game into a super-over for decision.
It is the first time Pakistan have defeated New Zealand in an ODI game.
Earlier, the green shirts bagged the first T20I series against the hosts.
