KARACHI: The Pakistan women’s cricket team secured its first victory in the three-match T20I series against South Africa in a thrilling encounter at the historic National Stadium in Karachi. Pakistan won the match on the last ball with five wickets in hand, completing the highest-ever successful run chase in the format.
Batting first, the visiting team managed to score 150 runs while losing 5 wickets during their allotted 20 overs. In a nail-biting encounter, the Pakistan national team successfully chased down the target of 151 runs on the final ball of their 20th over, securing a thrilling victory.
Nida Dar, the newly appointed captain of the Pakistan women’s team, was determined to start her leadership tenure on a winning note. She took the helm as full-time captain in April of this year, succeeding Bismah Maroof, who stepped down from the captaincy following Pakistan’s participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in February.
