Pakistani Athletes Excel at Malaysian Open Taekwondo Championship

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistani taekwondo athletes won several medals in the ongoing Malaysian Open Taekwondo Championship being played at Kuala Lumpur over the course of the two-day event.

On the opening day of the competition, Pakistani competitors achieved notable success, winning a total of two gold, three silver, and six bronze medals. The achievements highlight the growing prowess of Pakistani athletes on the international stage.

Umeema led the way with a standout performance, securing a gold medal in the Fight category. She also earned a silver medal in Pair Poomsae and a bronze in Individual Poomsae. Hania complemented this success with a gold medal in Individual Poomsae, a silver in Fight, and a bronze in Pair Poomsae.

In the individual categories, Mohammad Mustafa Afridi and Imran Ahmad both earned bronze medals, while Muhammad Ahmad secured silver in Individual Poomsae. Waqar Afridi and Hashim also contributed to the medal tally with bronze medals in the Pair Poomsae category.
