SHANGHAI, China: Nine prominent Pakistani companies, specializing in logistics, rice mills, frozen meals, fruits, juices, pink salt products, candies, snacks, and dried fruits, made a notable presence at the 2024 Salon International De L’Alimentation (SIAL) in Shanghai.
The event, held from May 28 to 30, drew over 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries, showcasing more than 350,000 innovative food and beverage products, according to China Economic Net (CEN).
SIAL Shanghai has emerged as a vital platform for Pakistani food exporters to present their products to a global audience. The Pakistani delegation underscored the country’s rich agricultural heritage and advancing capabilities in food processing and logistics. Emphasizing quality and diversity, Pakistani exhibitors aimed to attract buyers from China and other countries.
The National Logistics Corporation, represented by Director of Plans Muhammad Yousaf, was one of the most notable participants. He emphasized the company’s expertise in handling international shipments, particularly in the food and beverage sector. “We are here to introduce our logistics services to potential customers and partners,” Yousaf said. “With our extensive network, we can ensure efficient and timely delivery of products from Pakistan to China and beyond.”
In the rice mill sector, Pakistani companies showcased high-quality rice varieties, including broken rice and long-grain rice. Kumar Kewlani, representing a participating rice mill, noted, “Exhibiting here allows us to highlight the unique qualities of Pakistani rice.”
The frozen meal section featured a variety of ready meals, including traditional Pakistani dishes and international flavors, packaged for convenience and sustainability. These meals cater to busy consumers seeking quick and healthy options.
SIAL Shanghai 2024 also included themed forums on topics like new retail, supply chain management, imported foods, and food technology, bringing together industry experts to discuss trends and innovations in the food and beverage industry.
