ISLAMABAD: A video of Pakistani cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani singing live at a ceremony has gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions among netizens.

The video was originally shared by Dahani’s fellow teammate, Hassan Ali, who playfully introduced him as the “New Singer in the house.” In the video, the pacer can be seen attempting to sing the famous 90s song ‘Jab koi baat bigar jaye.’ However, his singing was less than perfect, as he struggled to maintain the correct scale and rhythm, while reading the lyrics from his mobile phone.

The video quickly gained traction online, but the response was not entirely positive. Many netizens advised the national cricket star to stick to his day job and refrain from pursuing a singing career. Some even humorously compared his singing to that of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, a singer known for his unconventional and unique style.

Shahnawaz Dahani’s Singing Skills

This is not the first time Dahani has showcased his singing skills. In the past, he had also sung in the local language with children during a visit to Zimbabwe.

Shahnawaz Dahani made his international cricket debut for the Pakistan national cricket team in November 2021 and has since gained popularity for his impressive bowling skills. However, it seems that his singing abilities have not been as warmly received by fans and followers.

As the video continues to circulate on social media, it remains to be seen how the young cricketer will respond to the mixed reactions. While some fans may have found his singing endearing, others hope that he will focus on his cricketing talent, which has earned him accolades and recognition in the world of sports.
