ISLAMABAD: After a fever scare, almost all the national players, apart from Muhammad Haris, were seen practicing in Bangalore ahead of Pakistan’s World Cup clash against Australia, scheduled to be held on 20 October.

Harris was advised to rest after he contracted a fever, while other players who had fallen ill earlier were seen on the ground practicing with full force.

A day earlier, six players of the Pakistan team missed the optional training session at Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The players who did not participate in the training session include Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Abdullah Shafique, and Salman Ali Agha, along with travelling reserves Mohammad Haris and Zaman Khan.

Players train for two hours.

The Green Shirts trained for two hours after a change of plan to abstain from training on Tuesday.

It must be noted that Abdullah Shafique had been suffering from a fever, whereas Usama Mir and Shaheen had also experienced fever symptoms, but they have since recovered.

The players who displayed fever symptoms were immediately checked as per the team’s health protocol.

Meanwhile, in line with the safety steps, all players were tested for COVID-19 and screened for symptoms related to dengue fever.

Pakistan have registered two wins in 3 matches during the mega-event so far, but their only defeat came against arch-rivals India on Saturday.
