ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Pakistani religious scholars, led by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, is poised to embark on a mission to the Afghan capital on January 3.

The carefully arranged visit, facilitated by Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior and the Foreign Office, holds a primary focus on addressing issues linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and fostering constructive dialogue between Kabul and Islamabad.

The delegation, comprising esteemed religious figures from diverse regions, including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Karachi, aims to engage in private discussions with representatives of the TTP. The objective is to lay the groundwork for future dialogues, creating a framework that facilitates peace talks and gathers insights on various pertinent issues.

Despite the significance of the delegation’s mission, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has not officially commented on the travel date of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and the accompanying scholars. The visit is expected to contribute to regional stability by addressing crucial issues and seeking avenues for peaceful resolutions.
