Pakistani Rupee Depreciates by 06 Paisa Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani rupee (PKR) on Tuesday witnessed a slight decline of 6 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank to settle at Rs 278.70 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 278.64.

Meanwhile, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling price of the American dollar in the open market settled at Rs 278.50 and Rs 280 respectively.

Unlike the greenback, the price of the Euro went down by 26 paisa against the local currency to close at Rs 308.18 as compared to the last-day closing of Rs 308.44, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Like the previous day, the Japanese Yen remained constant at Rs 1.90, while the British Pound registered a decrease of 94 paisa to close at Rs 365.72 against the last day’s closing of Rs 366.09.

Meanwhile, the price of the Emirates Dirham went up by 02 paisa to close at Rs 75.88, whereas that of the Saudi Riyal increased by 01 paisa to close at Rs 74.26 respectively.
