Pakistani Rupee Gets Further Strength Against US Dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) on Tuesday got another slight relief while gaining Rs 0.81 against the American dollar in the interbank market, reported by local media on Tuesday.

According to the SBP (State Bank of Pakistan, the local currency recovered Rs 0.81 against US dollar to close at 283.90 against Rs284.71 the previous day.

According to the FAP (Forex Association of Pakistan), the buying and selling rates of the American dollar in the open market were witnessed at Rs 287 and Rs 289, respectively.

Meanwhile, like the dollar, the Euro also depreciated by Rs 1.94 against the local currency and closed at Rs 311.15 compared to its last-day closing of Rs 313.09, as reported by SBP.

The Japanese Yen also recorded a decreased and closed with a decline by 01 paisa and stood at Rs 2.11, while the British Pound witnessed a decrease of Rs 1.23 and was traded at Rs352.49 against Rs 353.72 the previous day.

The exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham went down by 21 paisa each to close at Rs 75.69 and Rs 77.31, respectively.
