LOS ANGELES: Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab has clinched two Grammy Award nominations this year.
Aftab, 38, is an internationally acclaimed Pakistani-American vocalist, music composer and producer. Her unique musical style encompasses fusion jazz and neo-sufi.
The recipient of Pakistan’s Pride of Performance was nominated in the ‘Best Alternative Jazz Album’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ categories.
The Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 4, 2024, following the recent unveiling of nominees for the 67th annual Grammy Awards.
Some notable nominees are Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Jon Batiste and Victoria Monétall competing with SZA for the coveted Record of the Year.
