PESHAWAR: Prominent Ulema (religious scholars) from various schools of thought in Pakistan expressed strong condemnation for the recent suicide attack at a mosque in the Ali Masjid area of Khyber district. They unequivocally declared that suicide attacks, terrorism, and militancy are strictly prohibited in Islam.
In a joint press conference under the national ‘Fitawa’ initiative, prominent Ulema, Khatibs, Muftis, and religious scholars from all faiths in Pakistan came together to declare that acts of terrorism and subversive activities have no place in Islam.
Maulana Tayyab Qureshi, Chief Khateeb and renowned religious scholar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, condemned the suicide attack at Ali Masjid mosque, where a police inspector was martyred. He reiterated that such terror acts go against the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Ulema Condemn Terror Attacks on Security Forces
Dr. Maulana Ataur Rehman, another respected religious scholar, emphasized that Islamic ideology played a crucial role in the creation of Pakistan, and Islam was declared the country’s official religion. He strongly condemned suicide attacks on security forces, including the attack at Ali Masjid in Khyber, and urged exemplary punishment for those involved in killing innocent people and attacking places of worship.
Sheikhul Hadees Dr. Maulana Abdul Nasir of Wafaqul Madaras exposed the evil mindset of the attackers who have no regard for Islam and humanity. He demanded strict action against such elements and expressed support for the valiant security forces of Pakistan in their fight against terrorism.
The Ulema also prayed for the eternal peace of all martyrs of Pakistan, including Shaheed Inspector Adnan Afridi, who lost his life in the Ali Masjid suicide attack. They united in their call to stand against terrorism and support the security forces in their efforts to thwart the evil designs of the attackers and maintain peace in the country.
