KARACHI: Thirteen-year-old Huzaifa Shahid from Karachi has made Pakistan proud by winning the Junior Squash Championship in Japan.
A dedicated athlete with a passion for squash since he was five, Huzaifa has been refining his skills under his father’s guidance. Inspired by the legendary Jahangir Khan, Huzaifa has already achieved numerous victories in local competitions, and his recent success in Japan highlights his commitment and talent.
“I have loved squash since I was a child,” Huzaifa said.
His father, who is immensely proud of Huzaifa’s accomplishments, has called on the government to support young athletes like his son.
He expressed concern over the decline of Pakistan’s squash scene, despite its storied history with icons such as Jahangir Khan. He believes that with proper government support, Pakistan can restore its former glory in the sport.
