Pakistan’s Acting President Calls for a People-Centric Budget

MULTAN: Pakistan’s Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has emphasized the necessity for the forthcoming 2023-24 budget to prioritize the welfare of the people. He underscored the interdependence of economic prosperity and political stability, saying that without the former, the conditions of the masses cannot be enhanced.
Addressing a gathering of Parliamentarians, Members of the Provincial Assembly, and other prominent political figures from Multan, the Acting President stressed the importance of uniting all stakeholders to address national issues collectively.
He pledged to collaborate with both federal and provincial governments to expedite developmental projects in Multan, including designating Multan as a Big City and completing the ongoing ring road project.
Reaffirming his dedication to public service, the Acting President highlighted the significant impact of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Southern Punjab and advocated for its expansion.
Furthermore, he disclosed ongoing discussions with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to enhance facilities for education, health, and transportation in Southern Punjab.
Several parliamentarians and local leaders, including MNA Syed Ali Kaisam Gilani, Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, MPAs Syed Ali Haider Gilani, Mian Kamran Abdullah, Rana Iqbal Siraj, Wasif Mazhar Raan, Senior Vice President PPP South Punjab Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Mehr Irshad Seyal, Dr. Javed Siddique, Malik Naseem Labar, President PLF Shiekh Ghias ul Haq advocate, General Secretary District Bar Multan Syed Arif Shah, City President PPP Aabida Bukhari, and Secretary Information Khawaja Imran Bashir, among others, were also attended the gathering.
