WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has reaffirmed that the promotion and protection of minority rights is a top priority for the government in the country.
Speaking to Pakistani American Christians at Mar Thoma Church in the Greater Philadelphia Region, he emphasized that an effective strategy has been developed to protect the rights of minorities in the country. The envoy assured that Pakistan remains committed to countering and penalizing hate speech.
Ambassador Khan also highlighted steps being taken to enhance police response, aiming to reduce fatalities and enhance community safety. Calling for joint efforts to promote inter-faith cooperation, he stressed the importance of mutual respect and understanding among different faiths to build a more harmonious and inclusive society.
He admitted the integral role of Christians in the societal fabric of Pakistan, praising their invaluable contributions to the nation’s development. Masood Khan also outlined various legislative and administrative initiatives, including laws against forced conversion, child marriages, and discrimination against vulnerable groups.
