RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan seized 1,069.783 kg of drugs and 10.700 kg of suspected substances amounting to US$ 27.55 million globally and arrested 40 persons, including five women. ANF also confiscated 14 vehicles in its 36 counter-narcotics operations nationwide last week.
According to the spokesman of ANF, the drugs that were seized included, 65.600 kg of opium, 5.504 kg of heroin, 926.034 kg of hashish, 11.899 kg of methamphetamine (ice), 0.726 kg of amphetamine (ice), 58.500 kg of ketamine, 0.152 kg of marijuana, 800 alprazolam tablets (1.125 kg), 1,200 lexotanil (Bromazepam) tablets (0.243 kg).
Anti-Narcotics Force Balochistan
In nine operations, ANF Balochistan found 697.15 kg of drugs and 10.700 kg of suspected substances. They also detained 14 people, including a female, for drug smuggling and seized five vehicles. Two kg of opium, 695.15 kg of hashish, and 10.700 suspected narcotics were among the drugs collected.
Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab
In eight operations, ANF Punjab found 64.843 kg of drugs, detained 10 people, among them a female, for drug smuggling, and impounded five vehicles. 1.2 kg of opium, 7.4 kg of hashish, 6.243 kg of methamphetamine (ice), and 50 kg of ketamine were seized.
Anti-Narcotics Force Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
ANF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa found 282.805 kg of drugs in eight operations, detained six people for drug smuggling, and impounded three vehicles. 60 kg of opium, 2.4 kg of heroin, 219.28 kg of hashish, and 800 tablets of alprazolam were among the substances seized (1.125 kg).
Anti-Narcotics Force Sindh
ANF Sindh found 16.14 kg of drugs in two operations while detaining a suspect involved in drug smuggling. Three kg of heroin, 4.640 kg of “ice” methamphetamine, and 8.5 kg of ketamine were seized.
Anti-Narcotics Force North
ANF North found 8.845 kg of drugs in nine operations, detained nine people, including three women, for drug smuggling, and confiscated a car. 2.400 kg of opium, 0.104 kg of heroin, 4.204 kg of hashish, 1.016 kg of methamphetamine (ice), 0.726 kg of amphetamine (ice), 0.152 kg of marijuana, and 1,200 tablets of lexotanil (bromazepam) were among the substances seized (0.243 kg).
