Pakistan’s Army Chief Attends Funeral Prayers for Martyred Soldiers in Peshawar: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayers for Sepoy Taimoor Shaheed (32, from Layyah), Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed (22, from Bagh), Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed (23, from Khushab), Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed (30, from Poonch), and Naik Ashfaq Butt Shaheed (32, from Kahuta), were offered today at Peshawar Garrison, a statement from military media wing ISPR stated on Monday.
These brave soldiers had embraced martyrdom earlier today during an intense exchange of fire with terrorists in the general area of Bagh, Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir along with a large number of military and civilian officials, attended the funeral prayers.

Following the funeral, the statement read, COAS visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar to inquire after the well-being of the troops injured during the operation.
He commended their unwavering morale and reiterated the nation’s determination to combat terrorism with utmost resilience.
The martyrs will be laid to rest with full military honors in their respective hometowns.

Upon arrival, COAS was welcomed by the Commander of Peshawar Corps.
